Grade 3 titanium is a commercially pure titanium alloy known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good mechanical properties, and moderate strength. It falls between Grade 2 and Grade 4 titanium in terms of strength and other characteristics. Here are some key features of Grade 3 titanium:



Ⅰ. Composition:



① Titanium (Ti): ~99.2%

② Other elements: Maximum of 0.8% combined, including iron (Fe) and oxygen (O).



Ⅱ. Mechanical Properties:



① Tensile Strength: Around 65,000 psi (450 MPa)

② Yield Strength: Approximately 55,000 psi (380 MPa)

③ Elongation: About 20%

④ Hardness: Approximately 200 HB



Ⅲ. Applications:


① Heat exchangers

② Chemical processing equipment

③ Marine environments

④ Aerospace components

⑤ Medical devices


Ⅳ. Characteristics:


① Good corrosion resistance, particularly in oxidizing and mildly reducing environments.

② Moderate strength and high ductility.

③ Good weldability and fabricability.



Grade 3 titanium is often chosen for applications that require a balance between strength and ductility, as well as excellent corrosion resistance in harsh environments.
